Great People of the Bible, Jr. High — Saint Mary's Press
Bringing Salvation History to Life. A Catholic Bible study curriculum for middle school students, designed to fit their parish schedules. Twenty-five one-hour sessions with flexible options for the catechist to complete student activities in class or use as family learning assignments at home. Student Book covers both the Old and New Testaments. Focuses on key figures from salvation history and makes strong connections between Bible stories and the teachings of the church. Activity pages in the student book include background reading, puzzles, significant Bible passages and a reflection. Catechist Guide was developed with features that meet the needs of parish catechists with explicit leader instructions that enable the volunteer catechist to lead the sessions with confidence. Session plans include: Session Focus, At a Glance outline and timeline, Preparation and Materials lists, Background Reading, and a six-part step-by-step lesson plan. Each session includes a quick-start activity, opening prayer ritual, Bible story sharing, review of the student book activity page, an integration activity and closing prayer.
