Saint Mary Magdalene
First Century AD
Feast Day -- July 22
Saint Mary Magdalene was sick. Jesus cured her, and she became one of his followers, and was with him as he preached about God's love. She stood at the foot of his Cross as he died. She went to Jesus' tomb on the first Easter morning and found that the tomb was empty. Jesus appeared and told her to tell others that he had risen to new life. Many people believed in Jesus' Resurrection because of her.
Patron of pharmacists, perfumeries, and women. Saint Mary Magdalene is often shown holding an egg, a sign of the Resurrection.
Saint Mary, you were the first person Jesus appeared to after the Resurrection. Help us to love Jesus as much as you did. Amen.
