Alive in Christ: Discovering and Sharing the Kerygma, 1-8 — Our Sunday Visitor
Parish Edition
This new, enhanced version of Alive in Christ includes new features inspired by the new Directory for Catechesis. Three new lessons have been added to each grade level:
1. The Kerygma lesson begins each year of catechesis with an encounter with the kerygma, the core, saving message of Jesus Christ.
2. The Human Person/Christian Anthropology lesson helps learners understand how to integrate mind, body and spirit as disciples of Jesus.
3. The Missionary Discipleship lesson closes each year of catechesis by helping students remember and share what they have learned.
Also new to the 2023 edition: family gathered sessions, a new downloadable soundtrack, and new digital resources.
PLEASE NOTE: Catechist Guides for parish programs for Grades 7 and 8 of Alive in Christ are available only online in the lesson planning section of aliveinchrist.osv.com. Catechists can plan their own lessons or a catechetical leader can plan, download, and send lessons to catechists via email. The online planning pages contain all the preparation materials, catechist formation, and instruction necessary to teach each chapter on a one-day-a-week schedule.
