Growing with God - A Catholic Child Safety and Family Life Program — Loyola Press
Parish & School Edition
Grades K-8. A 6-lesson supplemental curriculum developed to meet the needs of dioceses, parishes, schools, families and children, Growing with God is a multi-faceted, innovative K-8 child safety and family life program grounded in Church teaching and the Catholic faith. This practical and systematic approach to child safety and social and emotional development is based on the belief that protecting children from abuse is the shared mission of families, churches, and communities. Comprised of six modules for each grade which can be taught in the order that makes the most sense for each individual program. The content of these lessons reflects the best practices criteria for safe environment training as described in the report on program effectiveness made to the USCCB. Lessons are: God Creates Us; Boundaries; Friendship and Bullying; Safety Awareness; Digital Discipleship; and My Sacred Self. The program offers flexible implementation options, supports compliance needs, and prepares catechists and teachers to teach these sensitive materials with confidence. Also serves children by teaching them the skills they need to keep themselves safe and maintain healthy relationships. Supports parents as they guide their children in making healthy moral choices. Teacher Resource and Family Packs include teacher guides, age-appropriate engagement tools, videos, music tracks, reproducible blackline masters, lesson resources, lesson summaries, parent guides in English and Spanish, and parent and catechist orientation plans, including slideshows.
