Infusing the Catholic Faith — Sophia Institute for Teachers

Offers teachers practical and concrete ways to introduce Catholic teaching into Civics, History and English. Textbooks already cover core subject matters, so these guides offer a series of talking points and mini-lessons that enable teachers to easily integrate Catholic principles into your day’s primary lesson. Integrate the light of the Gospel into all the disciplines without replacing existing textbooks.  Students will begin to see how virtues or vices animate the activities of history’s heroes and villains, and see the role of the Church throughout the development of Western Civilization. Their reading of great works of literature will lead them to a deeper understanding of human nature while cultivating their imagination, intuition, and empathy. Units and lessons are tied to the Catechism of the Catholic Church as well as to Common Core ELA standards, or National Council for History in Schools national standards. (©2019)
