Volume 2. Presents the church from Pentecost through its history, encompassing its teachings and tradition. It presents the mission of the church, entrusted to it by Jesus, as the responsibility of all baptized Catholics. Unit 1: How Do We Nourish God's Gift of Faith? Focusing on Catholic morality; Unit 2: Who Are Our Ancestors in Faith? Focusing on church history; Unit 3: How Can the Church's Heritage Give Us Hope? Continuing church history with an emphasis on social teaching; Unit 4: What Does It Mean to Be Catholic? Focusing on the teachings and tradition of the Catholic church. Chapters include sidebars on Catholic identity, the lives of the saints, vocabulary, reflection on Scripture, Catholic social teaching, and sharing faith within the family. Short review exercises at the end of each chapter and three-page assessments at the end of each unit.

New edition includes four Catholic Identity Retreats that expand the focus on spirituality and engage students in prayer, reflection, activities, discussion, and meditations. Home Companion and Resources will support family faith formation. Questions and Answers allow students to explore and strengthen their faith.
