Finding God Junior High presents the full content of the Catholic faith with a strong emphasis on prayer. Using culturally relevant material and a youth-friendly format, the program engages adolescents and makes it easier to offer them meaningful faith experiences appropriate to their age. The curriculum is flexible. It is interchangeable by grade and units can be used in any sequence. Student Books have unit openers, Scripture in every session, two main articles per unit that present the teachings of the church, prayer opportunities and sidebars that extend content and connect it with daily life. They also include review activities, assessments and ideas for service projects. Each student book comes with access to online parent newsletters. Catechist/Teacher Guides offer preparation, background information, ways to work with the articles, extending the chapter ideas and a get-ready guide. Catechist/Teacher Guides include reproducible blackline activities and assessments and two audio CDs with instrumental music, dramatized Scripture stories and guided reflections. Program Director Guide provides materials to help implement the program and to introduce it to catechists and parents. It comes with a DVD to use in parent sessions.
Finding God Junior High is approved by the Bishop's Committee. (©2007)
