A faith formation program that is foundational, flexible and easy-to-use.
The Kindergarten Student Book comes in a take-home folder and includes 21 lessons, 10 We Celebrate leaflets, 18 cutout activities, six booklets and five activity posters. The Student Books have five units each with 20 core chapters integrating Scripture, doctrine and classroom activities. Special We Care chapters at the end of each unit introduce Catholic social teaching. Unit Organizer and Review pages help students evaluate their own comprehension. Family Time pages provide a family activity to do at home before each lesson.
The Catechist Guide provides an overview of each chapter for easy planning, prayer suggestions, and lesson plans that allow for creativity. Parish program resources include Music, and reproducible Classroom Activities, reproducible Unit Tests, and reproducible Projects. Home Program Guides contain simple lesson plans for parents to use to teach their children at home. Each two-page lesson is correlated with the parish student book, and includes Focus, parent background, family time and learning time. The Parish Program Director Manual for grades 1 – 6 includes everything you need to know to organize your parish program. The manual for grades 7 and 8 also explains how to integrate Confirmation into your program.
The Summer Program Leader Guide provides an alternative model for religious education. The year-long content of each level of Blest Are We grades 1 through 8 is organized around ten themes for use as a two-week, three-hour-a-day summer program. The Guide includes a month-to-month planning schedule, daily lesson plans, prayer services, recruitment strategies, catechist training plans, and ideas for communicating with the parish and families. Provides a doctrinal component for parishes engaged in whole community catechesis. The flexibility and the summer scheduling give busy families the opportunity to participate in religious education.
